Course Description

This six-hour mandatory course, required once every four years for all active Kentucky real estate licensees, provides a comprehensive overview of the laws, regulations, and professional responsibilities that govern real estate practice in the Commonwealth. The course is designed to ensure licensees remain compliant with KRS Chapter 324 and 201 KAR Chapter 11, while promoting ethical conduct, consumer protection, and risk management.

Throughout the course, licensees will explore a wide range of critical topics, including agency relationships, advertising guidelines, licensee disclosure obligations, handling of escrow accounts, license law violations, and the Kentucky Real Estate Commission’s (KREC) complaint and disciplinary process.

Registration Pricing:

$80 Standard Registration (Price On/After 10/8/2025 at 8:00 am EST)

Classroom walk-ins are welcome, provided that classroom capacity has not been reached Attendees are emailed a reminder two days before the class with materials to print. Materials will not be provided at the class. 


Course No Show/Cancellation Policy:

If a student cancels his/her registration, 4 or more business days before the class, a refund will be given minus a cancellation fee. The refund request MUST be submitted in writing via email to: [email protected]. If a student cancels his/her registration 3 business days before the class or is a no-show, there will be no refund. Classroom Registrations are NOT Transferable.

Cancellation Fee: $20 for a full-day classroom course

We reserve the right to change classes and/or instructors when necessary. We reserve the right to cancel courses. If the course is canceled, you will be notified, and you may then transfer to another course

 

Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify and apply current Kentucky real estate laws and regulations that govern licensee conduct, including recent legislative and administrative updates.

  2. Explain the duties and responsibilities of real estate licensees as outlined in KRS Chapter 324 and 201 KAR Chapter 11, including fiduciary duties, agency relationships, and advertising rules.

  3. Recognize and avoid common violations that result in disciplinary action, including improper disclosure, mishandling of escrow, and failure to comply with continuing education or licensing requirements.

  4. Demonstrate an understanding of the Kentucky Real Estate Commission’s complaint and disciplinary process, including the steps from complaint filing to final resolution.

  5. Implement best practices for ethical decision-making and professional conduct in accordance with state law and the standards expected by the Commission.

  6. Analyze risk management strategies for reducing liability in daily real estate practice, including proper documentation, disclosure practices, and communication techniques.

  7. Evaluate advertising and marketing materials for compliance with Kentucky laws, including team advertising, social media, and online platforms.

  8. Apply license law to real-world scenarios and case studies, reinforcing correct interpretation and legal application in areas such as agency, contracts, compensation, and disclosure.
